Barry Arthur Chenault, was born in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York.  From the first time that he was able to create rhythms in his family's woodshed with pots and pans, everyone knew that he would one day become a drummer.  Indeed, at the tender age of 5, Barry began marching with the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corp as their Jr. Drum Major Mascot.  By the time Barry was 12, he was so accomplished as a percussionist, that he

was elevated to the drum line as a snare drummer.

Barry moved to California in '77 and continued his percussive mastery by joining the Anaheim Kingsman Drum & Bugle corp.  It was with the Anaheim Kingsmen that Barry expanded his musical horizons to include soul, rhythm and blues, and funk.  After being recruited in high school by the well known corporate band, Larry Rose and Thump-a-source, Barry was introduced to and soon mastered the unique rhythms of Parliament Funkadelic.

As Barry's musical repertoire expanded, his zeal to learn new types of music also expanded.  Not surprisingly, Barry's mastery of these new musical genre's brought him into great demand by many different artists.  From his high energy performances with the popular R&B group Zoom, to his ground breaking performances with the first rap group to perform with a live band, the Boo-yaa-tribe.  Barry's mastery of various musical genres has been legendary.  This is evidenced by Barry being hand chosen to perform with and tour with funk icon, George Clinton.   Barry went on to perform and tour with R&B sensation, the GAP band.

Barry is working with such artists as Cee Cee Michaela (Neo Soul), Paris Escovido (Latin), and one of the nation's top corporate bands, Haute Chili.  Barry also has conducted a series of drum clinics for MAR and is currently in production on his own CD.

Barry is a multi-faceted percussionist.  His ability to bring an exciting energy, zeal and skill to various types of musical genre's are what makes him a true, drummer
